I’m writing this as an adult (21) who went here when I was 16. I wasn’t able to be my own voice then but I can now. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE. To this day I will never view my parents the same because I truly believe that they knowingly put me in danger with their decision to send me here for self harm. I won’t get into the nitty gritty details of how shady this place was because my message would be too long but in the two weeks I spent at this facility I was molested, assaulted, and severely neglected. I was not protected by the adults around me, my heart broke for the girls who had been trapped there for years because they had nobody to go home to, I developed a UTI because we had no access to clean drinking water (The girls in my cabin were dealing flavor packets for water to make it somewhat tolerable like cigarettes in prison) and they refused to take me to the hospital which was right next door. Which was the only reason my dad came and picked me up overnight so he could take me to a hospital. Food could not be eaten without getting sick so girls would hide packed or sealed snacks behind dressers, girls would fight over ice they scraped off the inside of empty coolers and would dish them out mafia style. I think the best meal I had there was a single raw potato I stole from staff. I’m in physical therapy now for bladder issues related to the dehydration and molestation, I’m still in regular therapy to manage PTSD, and I have yet to break my habit of hoarding food and water because deep down I’m still scared I won’t have access to it again one day. If you genuinely love your children and want them to get better with whatever they are struggling with, there are countless medical and mental health professionals that can help them. Sending them to this facility or any facility related to the predatory troubled teen industry WILL MAKE THEM WORSE IN THE LONG RUN. I am begging you as a child who experienced it, I am not any better for have come here, it only set me back even further. I couldn’t advocate for myself but please let me advocate for your children, get them professional help, do not ship them away to this prison. Protect them, please.Posted on Google![]()

The village behavioral health was easily one of the top 5 worst residentials. Patients were all treated unequally, the staff were very VERY unprofessional and when bullying and fights happened, staff became blind eyes to the situation. When bullied, the staff would tell kids that “you’re always going to hear stuff you don’t like” or “have a talk with them to see what you did wrong”. Staff allowed other kids to do what they want because they were “bad kids” and when they were “good for one day”, took out on golf carts, staff bought them stuff out of their own money. good kids sat there and did the regular just like everyone else. RYC (resident youth council) did nothing, all it was-to reward members with sodas candy and other sorts like helping staff with activities, being around the opposite gender. I was one of the good kids, never went into RYC but overall I never code green (run away) and I participated in every group therapy, including my therapist’s. I was called a bully and had a staff yelling at me because I simply asked a girl to move seats so I could see the TV, this kid was favorited. Also called a bully when I hung around someone who would make jokes, as well as me, people would assume. I took responsibility for it even though I didn’t have to. I got into 2 fights while being there, 1 was because of bullying, with a whole group being against me one of the kids told this girl to go fight me, she threw a basketball at me and preceded to get up in my face, I put my arm up to tell her to go back inside and that’s when it started the staff came and watched the entire thing happen and even let her choke me and then she grabbed her. Number 2, again the whole cabin was against me, I asked this girl how much time she had left on the phone (it was the weekend which u get 20 minutes, mind u she was already passed her time, she looked and she had to get off. An hour later, the entire group was standing by the desk where the staff was and she turned around from the desk and started telling me how I mad her angry and upset that I interrupted her phone call, I was watching the night at the museum, I didn’t give any reaction no talking no looking js tryna mind my business. Then, a different girl came up (which I had been friends with) and starting yelling at me to pay mind and that I’ve been pissing her off recently, which didn’t make sense because I talked to her on the daily. She then followed me outside because I wanted to get away from the hostility. We lined up for bathhouse and her body was facing me and I looked at her once or twice both met eyes because she was staring at me she started to get hostile again with being verbally aggressive and all I was saying was, “okay”, “cool” and other short replies she then dropped her book back and got in my face and hit me the staff was behind us and didn’t do anything untill we both were on the ground as soon as I got up, I walked away (this was my last day of residential. While I was in nursing the staff (ms. Tippy) let her ruin my bathhouse stuff and some was even stolen. Don’t send your kid here it’ll only do worse than good, I don’t recommend what’s so ever. Get a place with structure not walls caving in to the point there’s ants crawling everywhere. Oh and the pictures online look nothing like it does in person.Posted on Google![]()

I was here at The Village Behavioral Health when I was 17yrs old, I am currently 21 years old now. This was my 3rd Treatment Center by that time in my life. The BHT’s and the clinicians were absolutely amazing. I forgot many of their names, but I do remember their impact on my life. I was being treated for Mental Health and substance abuse, this is the first program that took me to a 12 Step meeting. They would take us to equine therapy and disc golf. I always had a great time on the outings. They didn’t change my life but I definitely left with some new understandings of myself. From the age of 16 to 21, and 7 treatment center’s later. I’ve found sobriety working a program of recovery in AA, now I get to help people for a living, helping to bring people into treatment all over the nation.Posted on Google![]()

While here our child learned the skill of coping and reducing the severity of her explosiveness and more importantly how to be safe and how to communicate when feeling otherwise. Village Behavioral Health worked with us in family sessions with dedication and devotion.
