What sets apart Spero Health Chattanooga’s case is the “Power of Three,” in which the three components of treatment, counseling, and rehabilitation assistance services are provided in one bundle. Regarding facilities offered at the treatment center, the telehealth technology should be mentioned. Individuals meeting particular criteria will receive health care using telehealth technology at home. Besides providing treatment to their clients, the center also offers recovery assistance services, which help the clients overcome social impediments in recovery. Spero has some really nice people. It’s kind of confusing in a lot of ways. I was going to Bradley County Comprehensive Treatment Center for a few years before moving to the Chattanooga area and having to change clinics. The scheduling worked a lot better with BCCTC because they open at 4 a.m. and you are able to get in, get your medicine, see your doctor and counselor and then be out in time to still make it to work or get the kids to school. They also made sure that your appointments were scheduled before you ran out of your medication. Spero has you come back after the day of your last dose. This means the entire time you are there for your appointment, you have not had your medicine for that day. Then you have group, plus see the doctor and then you have to wait all day on the pharmacy. In essence they cost you a day short every month for this very issue. Also, because you ALWAYS have to attend group in the morning, if you are like me and have a first shift job, they tend to give you the third degree for needing to change your appointments around. Especially if more than once. This would ordinarily not be an issue but it’s difficult when they do not offer evening appointments. They would rather you come in days late and you run out of medication than get you in a day early like everywhere else does. I guess the thing is they make you feel more like an addict here, in a lot of ways, than a person in recovery. The group settings they say are “statistically proven to help people more” but I have done both group and one on one and the one on one settings are far more effective. You have ample time to speak from the heart and the privacy between you and your care provider really helps. None of this is to speak negatively of Spero. As I said everyone there is wonderful and kind. It just operates differently. It makes you feel like you are always being held at a distance. All of my doctors visits have been in office but over Zoom. As have the group sessions been lately. From a personal perspective it makes me feel more like a nuisance than a person in need. I wish the stigma around Suboxone would stop. It helps you piece together a life for yourself that is some sort of semblance of how life was before addiction took over. Stay the path in your sobriety. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

They are not just employee’s, They are My family. They are the reasons I am still at Spero Health. Honestly, I would not be there if it wasn’t for both of them caring as much as they do about my well-being. Thank you for doing all that you do for my family. I hope this reaches both of you!
