I came in as a veteran of inpatient treatment. This was my fifth time. I have to say that recovery unplugged was by far the best treatment facility ive ever been to. They have a large staff who are all very good at what they do and a cafeteria that is incredible. Everything is there for you to get matter, you just have to put in the work.

I can’t speak on the experience of the program itself, but housing was a nightmare. My first night the room they gave me had a pile of garbage in the corner as well as mattresses and bed frames taking up the entire closet. My tv was broken. Then when I decided to leave, I kept getting push back and people intentionally did not speak with me so that they would try and force me to stay longer. This facility was highly recommended by High Focus Treatment Centers for my disorder. Unfortunately they do not observe and respect veganism and would not accomodate me. Hard to understand a facility that is unable to allow a vegan resident to be a patient. They informed me I would be be dining with others that would be consuming other beings and that was the only option that would add to trauma I currently deal with. The website states "The Ranch TN Offers
An environment that nurtures healing and self-discovery
Personalized care that respects individuality". That is not the case if I am given no other option than to eat with others who consume other beings. Please do better to observe that there are individuals who will not perpetuate the suffering of others for their own benefit. Initially, I had huge reservations about going to any clinic. My husband was referred to Cedar Recovery South by someone he knew, and he started attending there first. I would go with him to his appointments, and we both really liked it there.

Eventually, I started trusting the staff a little more and finally opened up about my reservations and fears. I was immediately reassured, and that gave me the courage to make an appointment for myself. I can honestly say that I have only improved since that day.

One day, I showed up at the clinic when no one was there except Katrina, the RN who works at the front desk. My appointment was actually the following week… I had simply read my calendar wrong, so it was completely my fault. Yet this girl tried to take the blame just to make me feel better! We ended up having a great conversation that day, and I have loved her ever since. You simply can’t help but like her. As a nurse myself, I have seen many different types of nurses, and Katrina is the kind of nurse that the one and only Florence Nightingale would be proud of. She is the absolute epitome of what the word “nurse” should mean. She is compassionate, genuine, caring, and truly treats people like people.

Amie, the FNP, is absolutely amazing. She is funny, understanding, kind, and compassionate. She has consistently encouraged me, supported me, and had my back as a patient. She is a true advocate for the people she cares for.

If you are debating whether or not to go to a clinic, just go.

JUST GO!

It is worth it. You are worth it.

There is an entire community of people who understand what you’re going through. You are not alone, and you don’t have to be ashamed.

Your mind is lying to you when it tells you that you can’t do this. You can. You will make it through this, and you can come out on the other side so much stronger and better than when you walked in.
